FED: AFC chief resigns

SYDNEY, Feb 17 AAP - Australian Film Commission (AFC) chief executive Cathy Robinson today
resigned from the organisation, citing the desire to pursue new challenges.

After nine years in the top job, Ms Robinson said it was time for the AFC and the industry
to benefit from new perspectives.

She said her time at the AFC, which also included a stint as director of industry and
cultural development, had been rewarding both personally and professionally.

"I have been chief executive during a period when the AFC and the industry faced
significant change," Ms Robinson said in a statement.

"I found it challenging and rewarding to ensure a significant AFC contribution to a
vigorous and vibrant industry."

A replacement has not yet been found for Ms Robinson, who will stay on until August.
