FED: No requests to reopen Hutchence death investigations
The NSW Coroner and attorney-general have no plans to reopen investigations into the death
of INXS star MICHAEL HUTCHENCE despite reports PAULA YATES has evidence his death was not
suicide.
YATES has been interviewed for a special to screen next Tuesday on Britain's Channel 4 in
which she insists the 37-year-old lead singer died in Sydney during a sex act.
Channel 4 told a London newspaper yesterday the special revealed crucial evidence presented
to the NSW Coroner but never made public at the official hearing, which could have led to an
open verdict.
In February last year, NSW Coroner DERRICK HAND ruled out any links with auto-eroticism in
HUTCHENCE'S death.
YATES, a former TV star and mother of three children by rock star GELDOF, says further
investigations are crucial to the future well-being of herself and HUTCHENCE'S daughter TIGER
LILY.
HUTCHENCE'S naked body was found behind the door of his Ritz Carlton Hotel room in Sydney's
Double Bay on November 22, 1997.
