LONDON-Lloyd's of London is rebutting a recent forecast by syndicate analyst Chatset Ltd. that contends significant losses for the years 1997 through 1999 are likely to jeopardize corporate investment at Lloyd's.
According to the forecast issued last week by Chatset Ltd., the Lloyd's market will lose an estimated L68 million ($109.8 million) for 1997, L479 million ($806.2 million) for 1998 and L346 million ($558.9 million) for 1999. Final results for these years have not yet been reported under Lloyd's three-year accounting system.
